Jonny Uttley recently established his own consultancy, working with schools, trusts, businesses and public service organisations, helping them think through complex challenges.

Before this, he spent 15 years with The Education Alliance (TEAL), including six years as Chief Executive Officer. In 2025, he was appointed as one of 20 leaders serving on the Department for Education’s multi-academy trust CEO advisory group.

He is also a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Young Lives think tank and a Trustee of SHINE, an educational charity dedicated to tackling disadvantage in schools across northern England. Jonny is co-author of Putting Staff First: A Blueprint for Revitalising Our Schools.
