Right move, who have teamed up with School Guide, will now ensure all properties placed on its website will include catchment ‘indicators’ as well as inspection results for local schools. Every listing now displays the most likely catchment area of the schools in the vicinity, based on the latest available pupil data.
This new resource will allow users to search for primary and secondary schools in a certain area and automatically read each school’s latest Ofsted report, as well as additional information regarding the school’s size, how many pupils it has, whether it is mixed or single sex, and whether it is a faiths school, independent school or otherwise.
According to research issued by Rightmove, 93 per cent of parents consider schools when deciding on a location to move to and 83 per cent of parents consider the distance between a property and a good school.
Victoria Bond, CEO and Founder of School Guide, said: “Finding the right home near the right school can be a minefield and, until now, there has not been a destination that connects the two. We are delighted to partner with Rightmove to empower users by putting the highest quality property and school data at their fingertips.”
James Micklethwait, Rightmove’s Head of Product Development commented: “This is a resource which will provide home-hunters with valuable schools information that they cannot find anywhere else. By partnering with School Guide we’ve been able to bring all of the information together in one place to help people who in the past were having to search across a number of sources to find the right home near the right school.”
The Welsh Government has agreed to continue a licensing deal which will give all learners at Welsh state schools free access to Microsoft 365 at school and at home.
Schools will play a greater role in ensuring every pupil has a clear post-16 destination, with a new approach to a guaranteed college or FE provider place available as a safety net being tested.
