BPI Bespoke Project Installation is an engineering company with many years’ experience in the design, manufacture and installation of handrails, balustrade and associated architectural metalwork, which has been installed throughout the UK mainland.
The company’s products have been designed and developed specifically to meet the needs of the following market sectors: Education, Healthcare, Public Buildings, Hospitality, Leisure, Railways and the Private Sector.
Market Sectors and relevant products.
Education:
Stargard, Sentinel and Stronghold are ideally suited to meet the needs of this market sector. Stargard is the original DDA compliant product with its colourful PVC sleeved handrail. Sentinel and Stronghold are stainless steel systems which are robust yet elegant. Stargard handrail can be fitted to each of the stainless steel systems if required.
Healthcare:
Hospitals, dental surgeries, GP surgeries, veterinary practices and care homes, can all benefit from using Stargard or Sentinel on entrance ramps, steps, walkways or corridors.When Sentinel is required, this can be coated with “Steri-Touch” an advanced antimicrobial coating for extra hygiene protection.
Public Buildings:
Practicality and aesthetics are usually important factors here. Buildings such as Courts, Libraries, Council Offices will all be suitable for Stargard, Stronghold, Sentinel and Glassrail balustrades. The various handrail loadings of 0.74KN/m, 1.5KN/m and 3.0KN/m can all be considered.
Hospitality:
Aesthetics are usually an important factor along with strength of course. Therefore, Glassrail, Stronghold and Sentinel are popular products, but we can also
add LED lights to the handrails for that extra “lift”. This option also enables light to be directed to where it is most needed, namely, the walking area.
Leisure:
Stronghold, Sentinel and Glassrail (as well as Brass handrails), are popular products for Theatres, Gyms, Tennis and Golf clubs.
Railways:
Stargard is by far the most frequently requested product here. Thousands of metres have been supplied and fitted over the years, some with LED lighting incorporated into the handrail for direct lighting to the steps. Ramps, Steps and footbridges are the most popular locations.
Private Sector:
Glassrail is a very popular product for Balconies as it give a “clear view” through to Exterior landscapes. Stronghold and Sentinel are also popular when fitted with toughened glass infill panels.
Products.
Stargard DDA compliant handrail:
The original and ideal DDA compliant handrail. It is robust, low maintenance and has long term durability.
Stargard is fabricated from galvanized steel and the sleeved after fabrication with 4mm (4,000 microns) thick PVC tubing in a range of colours. (a normal powder coating finish is around 110 microns to 120 microns thick).
The colour of the PVC is consistent through the thickness, and the PVC will not chip or “flake”, and resists knocks and bumps, (as the PVC has a “memory” and minor knocks will disappear). LED lights have been installed in many metres of Stargard handrail.
Upper and lower handrails are supplied when necessary, and there is a range of infill panels such as toughened glass, powder coated perforated sheet, and vertical bar fabrications.
The balusters can be sleeved PVC, stainless steel from our Sentinel range, or alternatively galvanized steel. These options allow the client a choice of aesthetics or cost.
Stargard is the ideal DDA compliant handrail.
The handrail is “not cold to the touch” and on-site testing has shown that Stargard handrails are typically 4-5 degrees C warmer in cold weather than standard powder coated or painted steel handrails.
Stargard handrails have proven performance as some handrails remain in use some 15-20 years after installation. Stargard handrails have also been installed on sea front locations.
Sentinel, Stainless-steel system:
This is a stainless-steel system which is component based, enabling shorter delivery periods and consistent quality. It is available in grades 304 for internal applications, 316 for exterior, and either bright polished or satin finish.
A variety of stylish infill panel options are available, such as glass, perforated sheet metal, (either stainless steel or powder coated mild steel). LED lighting can also be added to the handrail.
Stronghold, stainless-steel fabricated system:
Unlike Sentinel, Stronghold is a bespoke fabricated system using 304 or 316 grade stainless-steel tube. After fabrication it is either satin polished or bright polished.
As this is a fabricated system, the handrail can be fabricated to corners and shapes not possible with component-based systems.
A range of balustrade infill panels are available all adding to the bespoke nature of the product. Once again, LED lighting can be incorporated into the handrail.
Glassrail, structural glass balustrade:
This is a product where there are no vertical metal balusters or posts. The toughened or laminated glass is bolted directly to the structure. It can be fitted with or without handrail and the glass used is up to 25mm thick depending on loading requirements.
