The creative writing schools fund will be delivered to children between eight and 12 and will focus particularly on children from impoverished areas, with the aim of easing the transition from primary to secondary education.
A spokesperson for Arts Council England said: “Creative writing is an important skill for young people, and is the bedrock of art forms – poetry, fiction, lyrics, play scripts and screenplays, blogging and more.”
