'Call for evidence' launched to support NPQ review

The government has launched a call for evidence as part of its review into the national professional qualification (NPQ) framework.
This forms part of the process to formally review the NPQs, which aims to ensure they are based on the best available evidence and best-practice of teaching and leadership in education.
The call for evidence is seeking recent, relevant and high-quality research that may inform updates to the evidence-base underpinning three NPQ frameworks. These are Headship (NPQH), Senior Leadership (NPQSL) and Executive Leadership (NPQEL).
The Welsh Government has agreed to continue a licensing deal which will give all learners at Welsh state schools free access to Microsoft 365 at school and at home.
Schools will play a greater role in ensuring every pupil has a clear post-16 destination, with a new approach to a guaranteed college or FE provider place available as a safety net being tested.
