£300,000 to improve sport services for disabled pupils

The programme aims to increase opportunities and aspirations for young people with disabilities.
The grant goes towards areas like: training teachers to engage young disabled people in school sport; connectig schools with disability sport organisations; and visits from Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
Children’s Minister Edward Timpson said: "I’ve seen for myself some of the excellent work that’s been done through the Project Ability grant and I’m delighted to announce its extension for a further year. Sport should be open and accessible to everyone – it not only increases physical activity levels but can raise confidence and aspirations and make a real difference to the lives of young people."
